How the crossing works
Everything the table does is spelled out below. The dealer has no choices to make — only a rule to follow.
Hand values
- 2–10
- Worth their number.
- J, Q, K
- Worth 10 each.
- Ace
- Worth 11, unless that would take the hand over 21 — then it counts as 1. A hand using an ace as 11 is shown as “soft”.
- Bust
- Any total above 21 loses straight away.
The dealer's fixed rule
The dealer takes one card face up and one face down. After you stand, the hidden card is turned over and the dealer draws while the total is 16 or lower and stands on any 17 or higher, including soft 17. No exceptions, no peeking at your hand.
Payouts
- Blackjack
- An ace plus a ten-value card on your first two pays 3:2 — a 20-coin bet returns 50.
- Win
- Beat the dealer's total, or the dealer busts: even money, 1:1.
- Push
- Equal totals, or both hold blackjack: your stake comes back.
- Loss
- Bust, or finish below the dealer: the stake stays with the house.
Your options
- Hit
- Take another card.
- Stand
- Keep your total and hand over to the dealer.
- Double
- On your first two cards only: add a matching stake, take exactly one more card, then stand.
- Split
- Not offered at this table — pairs are played as a single hand.
